Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the fourth consecutive season with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The visitors took the lead through Adrien Rabiot after just 16 minutes, but Chelsea were quick to respond and levelled things up on the night through Diego Costa.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic killed the tie off with a little over 20 minutes remaining, however, as he put the finish touch to a quick team move to clinch a 4-2 aggregate triumph.

Good evening! Thank you very much for joining Sports Mole for tonight's Champions League showdown between two sides fast becoming familiar foes as Chelsea and PSG meet yet again. It is the visitors who hold a slight advantage heading into tonight's second leg following their 2-1 win in Paris three weeks ago, but Chelsea are still very much in the tie and it promises to be yet another unmissable spectacle between these two this evening. First things first, though, let's take a look at the two teams...

CHELSEA STARTING XI: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Cahill, Ivanovic, Kenedy; Mikel, Fabregas; Pedro, Willian, Hazard; Diego Costa

CHELSEA SUBS: Begovic, Baba Rahman, Matic, Loftus-Cheek, Oscar, Traore, Remy

PSG STARTING XI: Trapp; Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Maxwell; Thiago Motta, Rabiot, Matuidi; Di Maria, Moura, Ibrahimovic

PSG SUBS: Sirigu, Augustin, Van Der Wiel, Stambouli, Kurzawa, Pastore, Cavani

What can we make of those two teams, then? Well, there are no huge surprises as far as Chelsea are concerned, with the most notable inclusion being that of Diego Costa leading the line. The striker was rested at the weekend due to a minor tendon problem, with Traore starting up front against Stoke, but there was never any real doubt that he would start this game. He has the ability to be brilliant - as 10 goal under Hiddink so far testifies to - or a bit of a liability should his temperment get the better of him, and up against Luiz that is a battle that has already provided a few fireworks in the last two years. Costa's record for Chelsea in the Champions League is not great though - he only has one goal in his last 15 appearances in this competition, with that coming against Group G whipping boys Maccabi Tel Aviv in September.

Hiddink is once again without his captain John Terry this evening due to ongoing hamstring trouble, and this could well be Chelsea's last Champions League night with Terry on their books so it will be killing the skipper not to be involved. Cahill and Ivanovic continue their centre-back partnership in his absence, which means Azpilicueta also stays on the right, but there is an interesting - and attacking - switch at left-back as Kenedy, who recently scored in the opening seconds against Norwich, replaces Baba Rahman.

In midfield, Matic was suspended for the first game, but despite being back available tonight he is once again left out. Fabregas, who was himself dropped to the bench at the weekend, comes in alongside John Obi Mikel at the base of the midfield. Mikel had a particularly eventful game in the first leg, conceded a free kick and then turning his back in the wall as the ball deflected off him and in for the opening goal, but then redeeming himself by scoring just the sixth goal of his long Chelsea career to level things up.

The last of Chelsea's four changes from the weekend sees Oscar drop back to the bench and Pedro, who has missed time recently with a hamstring injury, brought into the starting XI. That could see Willian play in a more central role behind the striker than the one he has occupied for much of the campaign, while Hazard, who has been heavily linked with PSG at numerous junctures in recent season, once again starts out of the left of that trio.

There are also a few changes for PSG, mainly due to the fact that Laurent Blanc rested a lot of his key players against Montpellier at the weekend. The biggest question mark in terms of fitness going into this game was over Verratti, who has been sidelined by a groin injury, and sure enough he does not make the matchday squad this evening. His midfield partner Blaise Matuidi has also been struggling of late with a hamstring problem, but he is deemed fit enough to start tonight.

Chelsea fans will be glad to see Cavani named on the bench again for the visitors, with the Uruguayan having scored three goals against tonight's opponents in the Champions League - making them his joint favourite opponents. None of them have come at Stamford Bridge, but right now he is the difference between the two sides in this tie having come off the bench to score the winning goal at the Parc des Princes three weeks ago. Laurent Blanc will be hoping he has a similar impact as a sub tonight.

PSG have such a wealth of attacking talent that they can afford to leave a player like Cavani on the bench in such a big game, with the fit-again Angel di Maria and Lucas Moura beating him to a place in the starting XI. Di Maria has been in excellent form this season and may have a point to prove back on English soil following his ill-fated spell at Manchester United, but there is no doubt that the star of PSG's attack is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He has been scoring goals for fun this season and notched one in the first leg too, although his record in the knockout stages of this competition is not the best. He has scored eight goals in 37 Champions League knockout games, compared to 38 in 79 group games.

In all, Laurent Blanc has made five changes to the side that drew with Montpellier on Saturday, with Motta, Matuidi and Ibrahimovic coming in alongside the defensive duo of Thiago Silva and David Luiz. Both were rested at the weekend but return to make up another all-Brazilian back four this evening. Luiz, of course, spent a memorable spell at Stamford Bridge as a Chelsea player, and both he and Silva were on the scoresheet when PSG visited at the same stage of last season, ultimately winning on away goals after extra time.

There is quality throughout the PSG team, then, and while they fared better than many expected them to in the first leg, Chelsea will still go into this match as the underdogs for most - at least in terms of getting into the quarter-finals. The respective domestic title defences of these two sides this season could not have been more different, with PSG sweeping almost all before them and Chelsea losing no fewer than nine of their opening 16 league games of the season - a spell of form that saw them get rid of the most successful manager in the club's history.

Hiddink, to his credit, has come in and steadied the ship for the Blues. It was going to take a lot to salvage anything from the season, but Hiddink could be on course to do that. A 1-0 win would be enough for this side to get through this tie and, should they be handed a kind draw in the quarters, they could well get all the way to the Champions League semis - something that seemed highly unlikely with them sitting just a point or two above the Premier League relegation zone. They are also in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, so there is plenty left to fight for this season.

Not even Hiddink's revival has been able to drag them back into the Premier League European battle, though. They currently sit 10th in the table and, while the gap to the bottom three is now significantly bigger than when Hiddink took over, they are still 10 points off fourth and a full 20 behind leaders Leicester, which is where they would have expected to be at this stage of the campaign. However, they have now only lost one more match than Manchester City in fourth this season.

That is as a result of Hiddink's ongoing unbeaten streak in the Premier League, with the Dutchman becoming the first manager to go 12 league games unbeaten at the start of his reign with a 1-1 draw against Stoke at the weekend. Those types of draws have been all too common under Hiddink, though. He has certainly stopped the rot in terms of defeats, but his 16 matches at the helm include eight wins and seven draws, which is too many dropped points to have seen them claw back at a stuttering leading pack.

Their solitary defeat so far in Hiddink's second spell as manager came in the first leg of this tie, but even then there were positives to take out of it. PSG have been almost unstoppable at home this season, but Chelsea matched them for long spells and defended particularly well before succumbing to the 2-1 defeat. That was just their second loss in their last 15 Champions League outings, since crashing out in the semi-finals of the 2013-14 tournament.

The concern tonight will be that Chelsea have been drawing far too many games at Stamford Bridge recently. Hiddink's eight matches here have seen Chelsea pick up three wins and five draws, while in the Premier League he has only won once at home since his return. They are unbeaten in front of their own fans since December 5, a run of 10 games, but simply avoiding defeat will not be good enough for them tonight. In the Champions League they are unbeaten in their last seven home games and have won five of their last six, although the exception in that run was to PSG at this stage last year when the visitors came away with a 2-2 draw that put them through.

One thing is for sure - if Chelsea are to progress tonight then they must score at least one goal. Fortunately for the hosts, they have not drawn a blank in this competition at Stamford Bridge since April 2011, when Manchester United came away from West London with a 1-0 victory. The Blues have scored in each of their 22 home Champions League games since then, and if they can do so again tonight, coupled with a clean sheet, then their name will be in the hat for the quarter-finals.

They may be confident of continuing that scoring record, but it could be the clean sheet that proves to be the hardest part of that. David Luiz has already vowed that PSG will look to attack tonight, and any and every goal they score will make things really difficult for Chelsea. As things stand, it is the hosts who have the away goal which could prove crucial, but should Ibrahimovic, Lucas, Di Maria, Cavani or any other of PSG's many attacking threats get free for one moment then it is very much advantage PSG.

PSG were quickly installed as favourites for this tie when the draw was made - partly due to Chelsea's dire form in the Premier League but also because of PSG's relentless form in Ligue 1. They are a full 23 points clear of second place and it is now only a matter of time before they pick up yet another league title. Indeed, their domestic dominance does not stop at that, which a treble looking likely too. They are already in the final of the Coupe de la Ligue and the semis of the Coupe de France, so it is entirely possible that they will pick up all three domestic trophies this season.

The holy grail as far as the club's owners are concerned is the Champions League, though, and PSG have struggled to make serious headway in the competition so far. This is their fourth consecutive season in the knockout stages - the best run in the history of the club - but they have been knocked out in the quarter-finals in each of the past three campaigns. A failure to even reach that stage this term would be a huge disappointment and could even qualify the season as a poor one, despite their utter dominance on the domestic stage.

Whether PSG are quite at the level of a Barcelona or Bayern Munich just yet remains to be seen, but not many teams will be hoping for Laurent Blanc's side in the quarter-finals should they get through. They have only lost one of their last 27 games in all competitions and just two of 44 all season. One of those defeats did come against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the group stages, while the other came recently as Lyon ended PSG's record 36-match unbeaten streak in Ligue 1.

The group-stage double-header against Real Madrid perhaps gave a good indication of where PSG are at in comparison to Europe's elite right now. They were a match for Madrid for large parts of both legs, but ultimately picked up just one point from those two games, which proved to be the difference between winning the group and finishing second. PSG's 1-0 defeat at the Bernabeu was, however, the only game that saw them concede in the group stages, and including Mikel's goal in the first leg of this tie, their tally of two conceded is the best in this season's competition.

If there is a concern regarding PSG's form, and admittedly it would only be a minor one in the grand scheme of things, it would come away from home. Each of their last three defeats, including their only two this season, have come on the road, and they were beaten away to Lyon just 10 days ago. However, it must also be noted that they have won seven of their last eight games in all competitions and 16 of 20 all season, so it's not exactly a crisis!

Things are a little worse in the Champions League, though. They have only won three of their last nine away games in this competition, and tonight are looking for back-to-back Champions League victories on the road for the first time since 2013. That run does include the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge that was enough to seen them through last season, though, and a draw is all they need to progress once again tonight.

PREDICTION: We're 10 minutes away from kickoff at Stamford Bridge, which means that it is time for a prediction! This is a difficult one to call - Chelsea have been a tough team to beat under Hiddink, but a draw won't do for them tonight. PSG are unlikely to sit back and defend their lead so their should be chances for either side, and I can see both scoring. However, I think it will end up as a 1-1 draw, with PSG progressing.

PSG have never won an away game against English opposition, with three draws and three defeats, but again they don't need to win tonight - a defeat could even be enough to see them through should they score more than one away goal. However, they have failed to score in five of those six away games in England - although the exception was the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge last season.

By contrast, Chelsea are unbeaten in seven home meetings against French opposition, and have kept five clean sheets in that time too. I doubt you need me to tell you by now that one of the exceptions was when PSG came to town 12 months ago, but the other also saw them draw 2-2, and against it was costly for them as AS Monaco went on to win 5-3 on aggregate in the 2003-04 semi-finals.

PSG have won 11 of the 15 European ties in which they have won the first leg at home, but the last time that happened they were beaten by (guess who...?) Chelsea in 2013-14. They have also won the first leg 2-1 at home twice before, and on both occasions gone on to lose the tie. Chelsea, on the other hand, have managed to win eight of the 13 European ties in which they have lost the first leg away from home.

Okay we're just about ready to go here! It is another special occasion, and these two sides have provided some memorable moments in recent years so let's hope for some more of the same tonight!

And I guess I should remind you one last time that PSG hold a 2-1 aggregate lead after the first leg.

KICKOFF: Chelsea get us underway for this mouth-watering fixture! Who will make it through to the quarter-finals?

CHANCE! Almost a perfect start for the hosts! The ball is fed into Costa on the edge of the box and he shows good footwork to find a bit of shooting space. He gets a firm strike away too, but Trapp is alert to push the ball away.

CHANCE! Big chance for PSG at the other end now! Lucas dances his way past a couple of blue shirts before sliding it through to Di Maria in the box. He in turn passes the ball past Courtois, but Ivanovic makes a sliding block a few yards in front of his own line.

DISALLOWED GOAL! PSG have the ball in the back of the net, with Ibrahimovic sweeping it past Courtois from close range, but his celebrations are correctly cut short by the linesman's flag.

This has been a quick start to the match! After the early scare from Costa, PSG have settled right into the game and look dangerous every time they come forward at the moment. This is shaping up to be a cracker!

Again PSG come forward, with Ibrahimovic this time seeing his effort deflected behind for a corner. The visitors are certainly keeping their promise of coming here to attack!

Matuidi is fortunate to get away without a booking for almost rugby tackling Pedro after being beaten all ends up by the Spaniard. Willian whips the resulting free kick into a good area, but PSG are able to deal with the danger.

Similarly at the other end, Ivanovic clatters into Ibrahimovic to concede a free kick in an almost identical position. This one is taken short to Lucas before being returned to Di Maria, whose deflected effort found an offside Ibrahimovic in the box.

GOAL! Chelsea 0-1 PSG (Adrien Rabiot)

First blood PSG! The visitors take the lead on the night and get a crucial away goal nice and early here, but it is poor defending from Chelsea. Ibrahimovic is left in plenty of space on the right side of the penalty area and threads a perfect low pass across goal, taking the defence and keeper out of the game. Rabiot is there at the back post and slides in to convert it before Azpilicueta can recover.

That goal means that Chelsea now need to score two just to force extra time and penalties tonight, but that also requires PSG not scoring again. The way they have started this match, it'd be a surprise if the hosts were able to keep them at bay!

Better from Chelsea as they come forward through Pedro and Hazard down the right channel. The latter cuts back away from Luiz before going for goal, but his effort is blocked before it can test Trapp.

Another chance for the hosts to come forward as Hazard nips in to intercept a poor pass from Marquinhos before racing towards goal, but once again it comes to nothing as the PSG defence holds firm.

PSG really are looking to take this game beyond Chelsea rather than simply defending their lead. They know they have the quality to cause Chelsea problems, and a second for them tonight would surely kill Chelsea off entirely.

GOAL! Chelsea 1-1 PSG (Diego Costa)

Huge goal for Chelsea to level things up on the night! Willian and Pedro link up well inside the PSG half before sending a pass in to Costa, who runs at Silva before cutting back and creating space to shoot. It is on his left, but Costa makes no mistake by picking out the bottom corner. Game very much on here!

These two never seem to disappoint when they place each other. This is shaping up to be another cracking game. Chelsea are just one goal away from levelling things up at 3-3 on aggregate - the scoreline that the last two meetings have finished on as well, but a PSG goal would leave Chelsea needing three more. It really is on a knife edge!

That goal really has raised the belief around Stamford Bridge. The players have a sense of urgency about them and are asking questions when they come forward, but there is that constant threat for PSG on the break too.

There have been a few niggly challenges from both teams so far, but referee Felix Brych seems determined to keep his cards in his pocket. He has done that so far, although some may feel he is being a bit too lenient.

CHANCE! A decent sight of goal for Ibrahimovic as Moura does well down the right before standing a cross into the middle. The Swede climbs really well at the back post and plants a header goalwards, but it is easy enough for Courtois.

YELLOW CARD! The referee does finally go to his pocket, and it is Rabiot who goes into the book for a cynical block on Costa.

Well, Chelsea will certainly feel a lot happier right now than they were 20 minutes or so ago. PSG had made a quick start to the game and deserved to take their lead, but Chelsea have responded really well and are right back in this tie.

SHOT! Shooting chance for the hosts as Willian nods the ball inside to Pedro, who in turn pokes it into the path of Fabregas. The midfield goes for goal with a first-time effort from just outside the area, but he drags it tamely wide.

YELLOW CARD! Motta goes into the book for a trip on Fabregas, which he may feel is a little harsh considering some of the fouls that have been let go.

SAVE! More really good pressing from Chelsea inside the PSG half! They win the ball back in a good position and, while Costa is quickly dispossessed, the ball drops to Hazard. He dips inside and curls one towards goal, but it is a routine stop for Trapp.

PSG are really struggling to deal with Chelsea's relentless pressing high up the field. The hosts have won the ball back inside the PSG half on numerous occasions and have got into some very good positions, including for the goal, in the process.

YELLOW CARD! Fabregas goes into the book for a high boot on Motta, although he got one in the chest himself!

SAVE! Costa is a real menace tonight. He cuts inside and sends a low shot towards the edge of the box that takes a deflection. Trapp makes the save but spills it out into a dangerous area, and he needs Marquinhos to put it behind.

HALF TIME: Chelsea 1-1 Paris Saint-Germain (PSG lead 3-2 on aggregate)

Another cracking 45 minutes of football between these two sides comes to an end, then, and the tie is just as finely poised now as it was before kickoff. It is 1-1 on the night at Stamford Bridge and 3-2 to PSG on aggregate, but Chelsea ended that first half on top and will be feeling good about their chances of at least forcing extra time now.

It was PSG who deservedly took the lead after just 16 minutes when Ibrahimovic was allowed space over on the right side of the area after moving away from Cahill. The Swede looked up and had time to pick out a low ball across the face of goal Rabiot slid in to convert at the back post. It was poor defender from the hosts, and at that point PSG looked like they would go on to score more.

Chelsea responded brilliantly, though, and were soon level on the night through a fine finish from Diego Costa. The hosts won the ball back inside the PSG half - a feature of their play as that opening 45 minutes progressed - before working it through Willian and Pedro to find Costa. The striker then cut past Silva before slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

The match got off to a lightning start, with Costa drawing a save from Trapp after just three minutes and Ivanovic being called upon to clear the ball almost off the line moments later. Both sides have looked dangerous when coming forward, although as the half wore on it was Chelsea who began to look more and more like the better team. They had sights of goal through Costa, Fabregas and Hazard in the final five minutes of the half, and the interval probably came at the wrong time for them.

PSG always have that threat on the break, though, and if they can find a way past Chelsea's high pressing then there should be space behind for them to exploit. They started the match really brightly and will no doubt look to some out of the blocks quickly in the second half too, although Blanc may have one eye on the defensive aspect of the tie, with his side through if they simply don't concede again tonight.

KICKOFF: PSG get us back underway at Stamford Bridge, with just 45 minutes separating them for a fourth consecutive Champions League quarter-final as things stand.

Again Chelsea catch PSG high up the field with their pressing, and again they are quick to release Costa, but Silva does well to shepherd him away from goal.

Almost a big chance for Chelsea as Willian races down the left flank and cuts the ball back towards Costa running on to it. His effort is well blocked by Luiz, though, while Pedro's follow-up is blocked too.

Ibrahimovic gives the ball away with an attempted square back-heel, which Azpilicueta pounces on and tries to send Costa through. He tries to chase it down, but the ball just goes out of play before he can reach it.

YELLOW CARD! Mikel goes into the book for a cynical trip on Lucas and, while there is no doubt about that, Chelsea are angry that they weren't given a free kick at the other end moments earlier. Free kick to PSG in a good crossing position...

Di Maria's delivery is too far in front of everyone, but the ball stays in play and is pumped back into the middle. Ibrahimovic meets it, but not for the first time tonight he is flagged offside.

Costa has the ball in the back of the net with a lovely chip over the keeper, but the whistle had already gone for offside. Beautiful finish, though.

Lovely football from PSG as they play some quick one-touch passes to get in down the left. Ibrahimovic pokes it through to Maxwell, but he then stands his delivery up into the middle and Courtois is able to pluck it out of the air. At the other end Pedro goes for goal from range, but he doesn't catch it at all and it trickles wide.

This is a huge concern for Chelsea. Costa goes down off the ball and it looks like he may have to come off here. He has really been in the mood tonight so this is a major, major blow for the home side.

CHELSEA SUB: Indeed, there is the change as Costa trudges off to be replaced by Bertrand Traore.

CHANCE! Chance for Ibrahimovic as he races on to a through-ball down the left channel from Rabiot. His final touch is just a bit too heavy, though, and in the end Courtois is able to see it behind for a corner.

This second half hasn't quite hit the heights of the first yet, but there are still more than 25 minutes to go and this fixture has provided plenty of late drama in recent years. The next goal is so crucial in this game - if it goes to Chelsea then we could be in for extra time, if it goes to PSG then it is tie over.

CHANCES! Chelsea threaten for the first real time in this second half! Willian darts inside and drives a really good low strike towards the bottom corner. Trapp makes the save but can only parry the ball to Hazard, who also sees his effort denied by the keeper. It then bounces back out to Willian, but PSG have bodies in the way to block that effort.

GOAL! Chelsea 1-2 PSG (Zlatan Ibrahimovic)

That is surely tie over now? Ibrahimovic puts PSG ahead on the night and two up on aggregate with a simple finish. Motta threads a fine ball through to Di Maria down the left flank, and he in turn put it across in the area, again taking the keeper and defence out of the equation. It is then left for Ibrahimovic to provide the finishing touch and surely kill off Chelsea's challenge once and for all.

That goal means that Chelsea must score three times without reply to go through tonight. They have looked dangerous, but without Costa it is really hard to see them doing that. We can no longer have extra time or penalties, incidentally.

PSG are just knocking the ball about casually now, and you can tell that that second goal for them this evening has really killed off Chelsea's hope. The atmosphere has died down, at least amongst the home fans.

Ibrahimovic races in behind the defence down the left flank before working space to cross the ball up against Cahill and feeding a low one into the middle. Di Maria tries an impudent flick goalwards, but it is easy for Courtois.

Hazard is struggling for Chelsea now and it looks as though he may have to go off. Suddenly an evening that looked like it could be special for Chelsea is turning into a costly one.

CHELSEA SUB: Indeed, there is the change as Hazard is replaced by Oscar.

PSG SUB: PSG also make a change as Javier Pastore comes on in place of Lucas.

These Chelsea players just look like they want the final whistle now. This tie is beyond them, and the hosts are now having to spend a lot of their time watching PSG pass the ball about.

CHANCE! It almost gets worse for Chelsea as PSG threaten via the same route that provided their second goal this evening. Di Maria again delivers the cross from the left and Ibrahimovic is again in there, but the final touch seems to come off Ivanovic and Courtois stops it on the line with his feet.

PSG SUB: Eight minutes remaining in a Champions League last 16 tie, and PSG have the luxury of bringing on Edinson Cavani. He replaces Di Maria.

SAVE! Traore tries to come up with something late on as he finds a yard of space around 20 yards from goal. His effort isn't the best, though, and Trapp collects it with minimum fuss.

YELLOW CARD! Matuidi goes into the book for tugging his man back, which isn't particularly clever looking ahead with this game already won.

PSG SUB: Another change for the visitors as Matuidi departs to be replaced by Gregory van der Wiel.

PSG fans won't agree, but that second goal for them wasn't the best thing for this game. It is bubbling up really nicely on a knife edge at 1-1, but Ibrahimovic really killed it off with that goal.

YELLOW CARD! Ivanovic goes into the book for blocked off Motta when a free kick was arriving in the PSG box.

There will be two minutes of added time at the end of this match.

FULL TIME: Chelsea 1-2 Paris Saint-Germain (PSG win 4-2 on aggregate)

PSG ARE THROUGH TO THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTER-FINALS!

It is PSG who go through, then, and they deserve it over the two legs. Chelsea have given a good account of themselves, though, and were very much in this tie until the final 23 minutes tonight, after Ibrahimovic had made it 4-2 on aggregate to the French champions. It will take a very good team to stop PSG this season!

That is all we have time for this evening! Thank you very much for joining Sports Mole for tonight's clash as PSG dump Chelsea out of the Champions League with a 2-1 win at Stamford Bridge - their first ever win on England soil. I will leave you with our match report, and be sure to stick around for reaction too. From me, though, it is goodbye for now!
