Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic admits that his side missing their early chances was the difference in Champions League final.

Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic was left disappointed by his side's inability to make the most of their early chances in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Bayern Munich beat Dortmund 2-1 at Wembley thanks to a late winner for Arjen Robben, despite Jurgen Klopp's side dominating the first half.

Dortmund were the better side, particularly for the first 30 minutes, and had a number of efforts on goal. Subotic has admitted that this was the difference between the two Bundesliga sides.

"The goal from Robben was the difference obviously," Subotic told reporters.

"I think what was missing was that we didn't take our chances. We had some great chances at the beginning of the match and also some in the second half but we didn't really use them.

"We did get the penalty but Bayern had some great chances and they took two of them, so that's what made the difference."

Subotic has been at Dortmund since joining from Mainz 05 in 2008.
