Franck Ribery says that he is ready to end his and Bayern Munich's long wait for Champions League glory.

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has said that victory in the Champions League final would make him "a real Bavarian".

The Bundesliga champions take on their great rivals Borussia Dortmund at Wembley later today, when they will attempt to end their 12-year wait for a fifth European crown.

Defeat to Inter Milan and Chelsea in two of the previous three finals has left the Frenchman desperate to finally seal Champions League glory.

"This title is very important for me," ESPN quotes the Frenchman as saying.

"I have been waiting for it a long time and I am hoping it finally works out on Saturday. If that happens I will be a real Bavarian."

Ribery joined Bayern from Marseille in 2007.
