Aston Villa Women will look to maintain their 100% start to the Women's Super League season when they play host to West Ham United Women on Saturday.

The visitors, meanwhile, are looking to return to winning ways after losing their last two league matches to Manchester United and Chelsea.

Although they have played one game less than their opponents, Aston Villa are three points clear of West Ham United after winning their opening two WSL matches.

A dramatic 4-3 victory was followed by a 2-0 win over fellow Midlands club Leicester City thanks to goals from Rachel Daly and Emily Gielnik.

As a result of their impressive start to the campaign, Villa are one of three sides to have a 100% record in the WSL this season.

The Villans would have also taken confidence from a 1-1 draw against Manchester United in the League Cup before the international break, with Carla Ward's side also earning a bonus point from that contest courtesy of a penalty-shootout victory.

Ahead of Saturday's contest, Ward and Daly have been announced as the WSL manager and player of the month respectively, and they will be hoping that Villa can carry their form into September.

Meanwhile, Paul Konchesky has experienced a mixed start to his tenure as West Ham boss after overseeing one win and two defeats in the WSL this season.

An opening-day victory over Everton got the Hammers up and running, but consecutive defeats in the WSL have prevented them from building momentum.

Manchester United claimed a 2-0 win to condemn West Ham to their first defeat of the season, before they were beaten by defending WSL champions Chelsea.

In their most recent encounter, West Ham could only draw 2-2 with Championship side London City Lionesses in the League Cup, although they managed to win the penalty shootout to collect a bonus point.

With the international break over, the Hammers will be focused upon Saturday's contest as they attempt to claim their first away points of the WSL season.

Team News

The hosts are will be without the services of Meaghan Sargeant, Remi Allen and Simone Magill, who are sidelined due to injury issues.

After making changes for the League Cup meeting with Man United, Ward could revert back to the side that started in the 2-0 win over Leicester.

Daly has scored three league goals for Villa this season, and the summer signing will look to add to her tally when she leads the line on Saturday.

As for the visitors, Konchesky may opt to use a back four, which could include Hawa Cissoko and Lucy Parker in central defence.

Honoka Hayashi could be included in the starting lineup for the third time this season after missing out in West Ham's last two games.

Dagny Brynjarsdottir will provide the goal threat from midfield as she attempts to score in a third consecutive game for the Hammers in all competitions.

Aston Villa Women possible starting lineup:
Hampton; Mayling, Patten, Turner, Pacheco; Dali, Corsie, Blinkilde; Lehmann, Hanson, Daly

West Ham United Women possible starting lineup:
Arnold; Shimizu, Cissoko, Parker, Smith; Evans, Brynjarsdottir, Longhurst, Ziu; Asseyi, Hayashi

We say: Aston Villa Women 2-1 West Ham United Women

Although West Ham have faced tough opposition in their last two league games, we think that they will be edged out by an Aston Villa side that are currently full of confidence.
