Former West Ham United striker Tony Cottee expects the club's fans to enjoy the style of football played at Upton Park this season.

Tony Cottee has claimed that West Ham United fans will see the attacking football they crave at Upton Park in the Premier League this season.

Many of the club's fans criticised the style of football played by Sam Allardyce's team last season on the way to promotion from the Championship but Cottee expects the supporters at the Boleyn Ground to be much happier in the new campaign.

The former Hammers striker said: "West Ham fans want to see the ball passed around and they felt they did not see enough of that last season.

"West Ham's home form last season wasn't great, but they were the team to beat in the Championship.

"Teams came to Upton Park and just sat back. It was frustrating. But teams like Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea won't do that, so games will be more open."

Recent reports have suggested that Allardyce is trying to secure the signing of Andy Carroll ahead of the team's return to the Premier League.
