Gabriel Tamas charged with violent conduct

The FA charges West Bromwich Albion defender Gabriel Tamas with violent conduct following a clash with James Vaughan yesterday.

West Bromwich Albion defender Gabriel Tamas has been charged by the Football Association with violent conduct.

The charge relates to an incident during yesterday's 1-0 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road, where the 27-year-old Romanian centre-back appeared to catch Norwich striker James Vaughan in the face with a stray elbow.

The event, which was missed by referee Mark Halsey, left Vaughan requiring hospital treatment.

Tamas has until 6pm tomorrow evening to respond to the charge.
