Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback has described his side's late 1-1 draw with West Ham United on Saturday afternoon as "a bitter pill to swallow".
The travelling Black Cats looked to be heading for all three points at Upton Park courtesy of a strike from summer signing Steven Fletcher.
However, West Ham skipper Kevin Nolan volleyed in with just one minute of the match remaining to hand his side a share of the spoils.
"It's a kick in the teeth to concede at the end because we defended fantastically throughout the game," Colback told the club's official website.
"Sheasy (John O'Shea) and Titus (Bramble) were brilliant and we coped with everything they threw at us. To then concede at the end is a bitter pill to swallow."
Sunderland have drawn all four of their matches in the Premier League this season.
