Italian giants Napoli have reportedly set their sights on signing Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ben Davies.
The 28-year-old missed a large proportion at the end of the 2020-21 Premier League campaign with a shin injury, but he did manage one goal and four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions last season.
Napoli are said to be using the influence of new Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici to seal a deal for Davies, as the Serie A outfit have a positive relationship with Paratici after previously negotiating deals together.
According to football.london, the Wales international is Napoli's back-up plan if their pursuit of Chelsea full-back Emerson Palmieri was to fail.
However, Davies may prove to be a tricky target for Napoli because he still has three years remaining on his contract in North London, and has been a key member of the Spurs squad since arriving from Swansea City in 2014.
In total, the left-back has made 228 appearances for the Lilywhites and has provided 20 assists as well as scoring five goals along the way.
