Napoli reportedly target Chelsea left-back Emerson as their top priority signing this summer, as the 26-year-old has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

Napoli have reportedly made Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri their top priority signing in this summer's transfer window.

The Italian international struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge last season, only featuring 15 times for the Blues in all competitions.

New Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti is believed to have personally requested that the club pursue a deal to sign Emerson, after the pair of them worked with each other at Roma.

According to Gazzetta, Chelsea want €15m (£12.8m) for the full-back, but Napoli are hoping to reduce that figure by £3m to £4m, using the fact that Emerson's contract in London expires next summer.

However, the 26-year-old's salary may be a stumbling block for the Italian side, as currently he is believed to be earning £4.5m per season.

Since arriving at Chelsea in 2018, Emerson has scored two and provided five assists in 70 appearances for the club.
