Luka Modric believes that Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale can fulfil his 'dream' of competing in the Champions League at Real Madrid.

Real Madrid playmaker Luka Modric believes that former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Gareth Bale can live his 'dream' of playing in the Champions League at the Bernabeu.

The Wales international, who was linked to the Spanish giants and their rivals Barcelona in the summer, seemed to refute speculation over his future by signing a new contract at White Hart Lane.

Despite committing the next few years of his career to the club, Modric believes that the 23-year-old should consider a move to Spain.

"We used to talk and I know he wants to play Champions League football every season and has a big dream of winning the Champions League," the Daily Mail quotes Modric as saying. "Madrid would be a great club for him to achieve his dreams."

Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas recently suggested that it will be difficult to keep hold of the winger.
