Prime Minister David Cameron says that he doesn't want to see Rangers "disappear".

Prime Minister David Cameron has backed Rangers during their recent troubles, admitting that 'he doesn't want to see them disappear'.

Cameron also revealed that discussions between HMRC and the administrator are underway, and he is hopeful of a resolution.

"On the issue of Rangers football club, this means a huge amount to many people in Scotland, I completely understand that. No-one wants to see, I certainly don't want to see, Rangers football club disappear," said Cameron.

"There are discussions underway between HMRC and the administrator. I hope they can be successfully completed and I hope there will be a strong and successful future for Rangers."
