Queens Park Rangers striker DJ Campbell is expected to be sidelined for up to eight weeks with a broken metatarsal.
The 29-year-old picked up the injury in training on Friday and sat out his side's 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn Rovers.
"It looks like DJ's done his metatarsal which is deeply disappointing," said manager Neil Warnock. "I think it's these fancy boots!
"I don't know why they wear them but they still continue to do it."
The draw at Loftus Road has left the R's in 10th place in the Premier League table.
