Papiss Cisse hints at Newcastle United exit

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse suggests that he may need to leave the club in order to find regular first-team football.

Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has hinted that he could leave the club in the near future.

The 30-year-old started the first two matches of the campaign, but was dropped in favour of Aleksandar Mitrovic for the Magpies' draw against Manchester United and defeat to Arsenal.

Cisse has conceded that he may need to look elsewhere to play regular first-team football, putting pressure on manager Steve McClaren to decide on his future.

He told reporters: "Maybe one day here, or away, I will have my chance to play football again. I don't know if I've done something wrong. The decision is for the gaffer to make."

Cisse joined Newcastle in 2012 from Freiburg and has scored 42 goals in 110 appearances for the club.
