Manchester United captain Harry Maguire was arrested after defending his sister when she was stabbed in the arm by an Albanian gangster, according to The Sun.
The 27-year-old spent two nights in a jail after being arrested for charges including bodily harm following the incident outside a bar on the Greek island of Mykonos on Thursday night.
Reports over the weekend suggested that the brawl may have started after the 6'4" defender's sister Daisy was stabbed in the arm with "a sharp object", and now The Sun reports that Daisy was attacked with a metal straw after rejecting the advances of an Albanian "gangster".
The assault is said to have drawn blood and resulted in Daisy fainting, prompting Harry, who was with his long-term girlfriend Fern Hawkins at the time, to intervene.
"Harry saw what was happening and remonstrated with them and things got heated," a source told the newspaper.
"He decided to try to get out of there and wanted to hail a taxi. But he ended up arguing with some undercover police officers and ended up at the local police station."
The centre-back is now back in the UK and will not be present for his trial tomorrow, which could result in a three-year jail sentence.
