Celta Vigo sporting director Felipe Minambres reveals that the club remain interested in signing Nolito from Manchester City, despite competition from Sevilla.

Celta Vigo sporting director Felipe Minambres has insisted that the club will not give up hope of re-signing Nolito from Manchester City this summer.

Nolito is eager to leave the Etihad Stadium after just one season in Manchester, having fallen out of favour with Pep Guardiola during the second half of the 2016-17 campaign.

Sevilla are thought to be leading the race for the Spain international's signature, but Celta remain interested despite suggesting that they would struggle to afford the player.

"While [he] is in the market, we are there. In the numerical aspect it is not feasible, but in the affective [sense] yes it is," Minambres told AS.

"Sometimes one does not end up coinciding with the other. We see ourselves with options because other teams can have their advantages and we can have others."

Nolito scored 39 goals in 103 appearances for Celta before joining City on a free transfer last summer.
