Manuel Pellegrini brushes off Pep Guardiola apology, "not worried" about future

Manuel Pellegrini dismisses Pep Guardiola's apology for unsettling managers by insisting that he is "not worried" about his future as Manchester City boss.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has dismissed Pep Guardiola's apology for potentially unsettling managers by admitting that he intends to join a Premier League club.

The Spaniard recently revealed that he will leave his post at Bayern Munich in the summer because he wants to manage in England.

Guardiola, who has won 19 trophies in his eight years of coaching, is being heavily tipped to take Pellegrini's job at City when the season comes to an end.

Today, the 44-year-old insisted that he did not intend to cause problems for Premier League managers when he made the comments about his future.

When asked about the apology, Pellegrini told reporters: "No, I'm not worried about that. I don't think he apologises for me, so I don't have anything to say about that.

"It's the same thing I said three weeks ago - I'm not worried about the future. My duty is to try to do the best work I can at Manchester City.

"My target is to try to win the Premier League this year and try to be involved in every competition to the end and win another trophy."

Pellegrini became City boss in 2013, replacing Roberto Mancini.
