Pep Guardiola sorry for stirring speculation

Pep Guardiola says sorry for publicly expressing his desire to manage in the Premier League once he leaves Bayern Munich.

Pep Guardiola has apologised if the comments that he made regarding his desire to manage in England have caused problems for any of the Premier League's current bosses.

The Spaniard, who confirmed last month that he will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, stated a week ago that his next move will take him to the English top flight.

Since then, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal and his Manchester City counterpart Manuel Pellegrini have both been forced to field questions about Guardiola potentially replacing them in their respective jobs.

With that in mind, from Bayern's winter training base in Doha, the 44-year-old told reporters: "I am sorry. Normally, in my career as a trainer, as a player, I respect a lot my colleagues, so I am sorry. It wasn't my intention."

The former Barcelona boss is also said to be of interest to Chelsea, who are currently coached on an interim basis by Guus Hiddink.
