Norwich City make a bid for Liverpool's Spanish Under-21s international Daniel Ayala.

Norwich City have made a bid for Liverpool defender Daniel Ayala.

The Premier League newcomers have offered a reported £800,000 for the 20-year-old, who moved to Anfield in 2007 from Sevilla.

"We are more or less there and will just see how things go," said Canaries boss Paul Lambert.

"He's here at the minute, he's talking, and I think he's having a medical which we'll find out later on if everything's okay. If that goes through it'll be next week before I see him."

The Spanish Under-21s international recently signed a contract extension until 2012 but had loan spells last season at Hull City and Derby County.
