Stoke City have confirmed the signing of midfielder Joe Allen from Liverpool on a five-year deal.

The Wales international, who joined the Reds from Swansea City in the summer of 2012, moves to the Bet365 Stadium for a fee of around £13m.

"It's been a whirlwind 48 hours for me but I am delighted to have finally been able to put pen to paper," Allen told the official Potters website.

"I was really excited as soon as I heard of the club's interest and it wasn't a difficult decision for me to make. I am incredibly excited about my future at Stoke City."

Allen, 26, was named in the Euro 2016 team of the tournament after helping Wales reach the semi-finals of the competition.
