Ryan Babel eyes "very special" Steven Gerrard reunion

Former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel says that it would be "very special" to team up with Steven Gerrard at Los Angeles Galaxy.

Ryan Babel has conceded that it would be "very special" if he could be reunited with his former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard.

Thirty-five-year-old Gerrard, who made over 700 appearances for the Merseysiders, is expected to join up with his new MLS employers Los Angeles Galaxy next month.

Kasimpasa Spor Kulubu's Dutch winger Babel has also been heavily linked with a switch to the StubHub Center and having played alongside Gerrard for four years at Anfield, the 28-year-old admitted that he would be eager to renew their acquaintance.

"America has always been a special place for me, since my youth. If it fits in with my career, it will be a challenge for me to play for a MLS team. If that would be Steven Gerrard's club, that would be very special," he told Goal.com.

Babel scored 22 goals from his 146 appearances for the Reds.
