Tottenham Hotspur's Tim Sherwood hopes to punish Liverpool nerves

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood hopes that his side can capitalise on their opponents' nerves during today's trip to Liverpool in the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Tim Sherwood hopes that his side can capitalise on their opponents' nerves during today's trip to Liverpool.

The Reds, who have not won an English league title since picking up their 18th crown in 1990, will go top of the table if they avoid defeat to Spurs this afternoon.

Sherwood understands the pressures of a title challenge, having won the Premier League as Blackburn Rovers captain in 1995.

"I know what a title run-in is like, it can be edgy," he told Tottenham's official club website. "Everyone is mentioning them now. Hopefully we'll catch a more nervous Liverpool side on Sunday."

Liverpool have won their last seven league matches, scoring 26 goals in the process.
