Liverpool are believed to be monitoring Brighton & Hove Albion youth striker Shamir Goodwin for a potential January bid.
The 17-year-old, who has scored 14 goals in 15 matches this season, is thought to have attracted interest from the Merseyside club, according to the Daily Star.
The Reds could be on the hunt for a new forward due to Luis Suarez's impending ban after he was found guilty by the Football Association of racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra in October.
Liverpool are also without midfielder Lucas Leiva until the end of the season after he suffered a knee injury.
