Ali Al Habsi endorses Mathew Ryan move to Liverpool

Ali Al Habsi believes that Mathew Ryan has a "great chance to make it" if he signs for Liverpool.

Former Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi believes that Mathew Ryan would be a good fit at Liverpool.

The Australian shot-stopper has been linked with a move to Anfield from current side Club Brugge.

It is believed that the Reds are considering bringing a new goalkeeper into the fold to replace Simon Mignolet, who has been heavily criticised for his performances of late.

"He's brilliant," FourFourTwo quotes Al Habsi as saying. "He has been fantastic in the World Cup and here in the Asian Cup.

"He's young, he can only improve and, of course Liverpool is a big club and for him it would be a great chance to make it."

The 22-year-old has been playing in Belgium since 2013.
