Daryl Murphy admits that he is open to joining Ipswich Town on a permanent basis from Celtic.

Daryl Murphy has admitted that he is open to the possibility of turning his loan move at Ipswich Town into a permanent one.

The striker is currently in the middle of a season-long loan deal at Portman Road from Scottish Premier League side Celtic.

Despite hinting that he would be keen to extend his stay in Suffolk, Murphy has revealed that talks are yet to take place with manager Paul Jewell.

"There is nothing going on at the minute," Murphy told the East Anglian Daily Times. "The manager and me haven't talked about it.

"We are just concentrating on getting points on the board. I am here until the end of the season and we will see what happens after that.

"I would consider a move here. I have really enjoyed it but there are still a lot of games left to play and that decision is not down to me."

Murphy has scored two goals for the Tractor Boys in 18 appearances.
