Ipswich have signed midfielder Jimmy Bullard on a two-year deal.
The 32-year-old had his Hull contract terminated last week following an alleged breach of club discipline.
Ipswich boss Paul Jewell told the club's website: "He had a few clubs to talk to but Jimmy made it clear that if we could sort out a deal then coming here would be his preference.
"It's a great feeling to know that even though he had the opportunity to go to a Premier League team he still wanted the opportunity to come here."
Bullard spent the second half of last season on loan at Portman Road, scoring five times and winning the Supporters' Player of the Year.
"Hopefully he can do what he did for us last year and beyond," Jewell added.
The Tractor Boys have also signed Celtic striker Daryl Murphy on a season-long loan while Ibrahima Sonko is expected to complete his move.
