Raymond Domenech backs Andre-Pierre Gignac for France recall

Raymond Domenech believes that Andre-Pierre Gignac deserves to be in the France squad.

Former France head coach Raymond Domenech has said that striker Andre-Pierre Gignac deserves a recall to the current side due to his form for Marseille.

Domenech said that Gignac, who has scored twice in Marseille's opening two games, is the complete forward and could only benefit the current setup.

"He has real potential," Ligue1.com quotes Domenech as saying. "He goes deep, troubles defenders. I saw him at Guingamp. He's made a lot of progress both tactically and technically, in receiving the ball with his back to goal and keeping possession.

"He is able to turn and also play for time as he waits for a team-mate. What more do you want?"

Gignac has scored four goals in 16 games for France.
