Dundee United manager Peter Houston has lamented his side's propensity to concede first in matches.
The Terrors conceded twice in the opening 10 minutes at home to lose 2-1 to Motherwell in their Scottish Premier League clash on Tuesday.
"That's five games on the trot we've gone behind," he told the BBC. "Now it's beyond a joke. I don't know if it's a mental thing. I'm asking them questions and I'm not getting many answers.
"It shouldn't be like that and for the last four of five games it's been like that. It would be hard for me to turn round and say they weren't working hard enough or they weren't chasing.
"They're doing that, but unfortunately we're giving ourselves mountains to climb. For 65 minutes we absolutely chased the game and it's crisis management in the side - we've got to just battle on and try to get people forward."
United are now seventh in the league table with 20 points from 15 matches.
