Preview: Derby County vs. Leeds United

Sports Mole looks ahead to Steve McClaren's first game in charge as Derby County boss when they take on Leeds United this weekend.

Steve McClaren takes charge of his first game as Derby County manager this weekend when Leeds United travel to Pride Park following the Rams' dramatic midweek draw.

The former England boss was appointed at the Championship outfit this week following the dismissal of Nigel Clough, but had to watch from the stands as Derby managed to come from behind and salvage a 4-4 draw against Ipswich Town.

Before McClaren's arrival, Derby lost two and drew two in their last four encounters in the league, leaving them 14th in the table.

The Rams have had trouble keeping goals out of their own net having just recorded one clean sheet so far this season, while Leeds sit just two points above them in the table following two wins in their last six matches.

Brian McDermott alleviated some pressure from himself by overseeing his side clinch a 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday following three straight defeats.

Leeds could travel to Pride Park with Ross McCormack and Noel Hunt in attack, while McClaren could put Richard Keogh back into defence following his suspension.
