Dagenham & Redridge responded impeccably in midweek after losing 2-0 to Stockport County last weekend, with the Daggers collecting three points from their away fixture with Weymouth.

Josh McQuoid opened the scoring for Weymouth, but second-half strikes from Josh Walker and Paul McCallum guided the visitors to a crucial 2-1 victory.

As a result of the win, the Daggers find themselves in the playoff places and are still in contention for top spot as they sit six points adrift of league leaders Stockport County.

Following the midweek away trip, Dagenham & Redbridge will return to home comforts at the weekend, but after losing three of their last six home league games, Daryl McMahon will be looking for more consistency from his side on home turf.

Despite experiencing a few poor results at home in recent weeks, the Daggers will be confident of finding the net on Saturday after scoring 29 home league goals this term - more than any other team in the National League.

Halifax, meanwhile, saw a seven-game unbeaten league run come to an end last weekend, with the Shaymen falling to a 1-0 away defeat to Maidenhead United.

Pete Wild's side had an opportunity to respond in midweek, but once again came up short, with a Josh Rees goal proving enough to help Boreham Wood to a 1-0 victory over the Shaymen.

Despite suffering consecutive defeats, Halifax remain in a promising position in the National League in fourth place, sitting just a point adrift of top spot.

A large factor in the Shaymen's success has been a strong defence that has conceded only 20 goals in their 25 league games.

Despite losing consecutive matches, Halifax will be hopeful of claiming a positive result at the weekend having lost just three away league fixtures this term.

Team News

After coming into the Dagenham & Redbridge starting lineup to score in midweek, McCallum will continue to lead the line.

Kenny Clark is also expected to retain his place in the side after coming into the backline for Tuesday's victory.

Despite coming on to score the opener against Weymouth, Walker may have to settle for a place on the bench.

As for the visitors, they are likely to be without the services of Jordan Slew, Kian Spence and Kieran Green due to injury issues.

Jamie Thomas joined on Tuesday on loan from Preston North End, and after being an unused substitute in midweek, he could make his debut on Saturday, although he may have to settle for a place on the bench once again.

Meanwhile, Aaron Martin made his debut for the Shaymen against Boreham Wood and will keep his place in the starting lineup.

Dagenham & Redbridge possible starting lineup:
Justham; Wright, Zouma, Clark, Weston; Jones, Rance, Robinson; Vilhete, Morias, McCallum

Halifax Town possible starting lineup:
Johnson; Debrah, Benn, Bradbury; Warren, Woods, Warburton, Maher, Senior; Waters, Martin

We say: Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1 Halifax Town

In the last nine competitive meetings between the two sides, the team that has had home advantage has emerged victorious on eight occasions, and with Halifax entering the contest off the back of consecutive defeats, we think that trend will continue on Saturday with the hosts claiming a narrow victory.
