Steven Pressley: 'I have received assurances from owners'

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley says that he has received assurances from the club's owners over their commitment to the Sky Blues.

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has revealed that he has received assurances from the club's owners SISU over their commitment to the League One side.

The Sky Blues are facing administration after the owners of the Ricoh Arena took the club to court over an alleged £1.3m in unpaid rent.

Pressley, who was appointed manager of the West Midlands club last week, has said that he has been reassured by SISU boss Joy Seppala over the issue.

"The politics of the football club is not something I particularly want to get involved in," he told the Coventry Telegraph.

"I spoke with Joy the owner last night and she gave me assurances that she is driven to continue moving this club forward.

"I wanted assurances there would be stability at the football club and she told me she is determined to get through this difficult period and build a football club we can be proud of. That is good enough for me."

Coventry are preparing to face Hartlepool United on Saturday.
