Former Chelsea manager Glenn Hoddle has questioned what French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko brings to the Blues.
Bakayoko joined Chelsea in a big-money move from Monaco during the summer, and the 23-year-old has already made 11 appearances for his English club in all competitions this season.
The midfielder started Chelsea's 3-3 draw with Roma in the Champions League on Wednesday night, and drew criticism from Hoddle after struggling to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
Hoddle also took the chance to criticise Chelsea for selling Nemanja Matic to Manchester United during the summer.
"Bakayoko's another one who has to come into the fray – he's got to do more for me,' Hoddle told BT Sport. "He's come over with a reputation, I'm not sure quite yet what he's got. 'He's a big, strong player but he got knocked off the ball a few times tonight.
"But can he play it? Can he get in the box? Does he hold? I'm not sure. The loss of Matic as well. Matic going to United, I'm scratching my head still. You don't give him to one of your rivals. And he's playing superb for United and is a big miss for Chelsea."
Chelsea will look to recover from back-to-back Premier League defeats when they host Watford on Saturday afternoon.
