Half-Time Report: Wigan Athletic, Brentford goalless at the break

Wigan Athletic and Brentford remains goalless despite a lively first half.

Wigan Athletic and Brentford's Championship clash at the DW Stadium remains goalless at the break.

Brentford went close through Moses Odubajo and Jota in the opening 10 minutes, before Don Cowie threatened to open the scoring for the hosts with a powerful strike from the edge of the box that was deflected just wide.

From the resulting corner Leon Barnett headed narrowly over the bar before James Tavernier's effort was well blocked just two minutes later.

Shaun Maloney nearly put his side ahead on the half-hour mark, but David Button was just able to claw his curling effort away from goal.
