Pep Guardiola hails Bayern Munich's defensive display

Bayern Munich head coach Pep Guardiola praises his side for the way that they defended in their 1-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund.

Pep Guardiola has praised the way that his Bayern Munich side defended during their 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund last night.

The Bavarians took the lead in the 36th minute through Robert Lewandowski and then had to spend large parts of the second half keeping their hosts at bay.

"Winning in Dortmund is tough. We defended well in the second half but didn't actually play good football, although we put up stiff resistance and were a good team," Guardiola told the club's official website.

The result saw Bayern open up a 10-point cushion at the top of the Bundesliga standings.

Bayern have seven matches remaining and will retain their title if they win a minimum of four of them.
