Leicester City have reportedly pulled ahead of Arsenal in the race to sign Juventus defender Daniele Rugani this month.
Rugani is determined to leave the Turin club after slumping to fifth in Maurizio Sarri's defensive pecking order.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have monitored Rugani since the summer, viewing the Italian as a cheaper option to RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano.
According to Calcio Mercato, however, Leicester are currently leading the race for the 25-year-old this month.
The Foxes, despite signing Caglar Soyuncu over the summer, want another defender in order to consolidate their place in the top four.
Juventus's hierarchy are said to be open to selling Rugani if potential suitors present a bid of around £21m.
