Arsenal, Chelsea keen on Brazilian youngster Emerson?

Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly hold an interest in signing young Brazilian defender Emerson, who currently represents Atletico Mineiro.

Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly identified Atletico Mineiro defender Emerson as a potential signing.

Both of the Premier League giants have enjoyed a strong start to the season, but it appears that the search is on for players who can feature at right-back in the future.

According to O Tempo, the Gunners and the Blues have been left impressed by the progress of Emerson in Brazil's top flight.

The form of the 19-year-old has led to scouts from England making the trip to South America, and offers for the prospect could be made in the January transfer window.

The report suggests that a bid in the region of £8m could be accepted by Mineiro, who are currently experiencing financial difficulties.
