Arsenal team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Crystal Palace

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Having had fewer than 72 hours to recover from a dismal continental exit, Arsenal return to Premier League action with the visit of Crystal Palace to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

On Thursday night, Mikel Arteta's side were dumped out of the Europa League at the last-16 stage by Sporting Lisbon, who prevailed 5-3 on penalties following a 3-3 draw on aggregate.

Now only fighting for top-flight glory, Arsenal enter the weekend still five points clear of Manchester City in first place and with the opportunity to extend that lead while the champions ply their trade in the FA Cup.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their clash with the Eagles, whose legendary ex-Gunner Patrick Vieira was sacked on Friday following a 1-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

The luckless Takehiro Tomiyasu was forced off with fewer than 10 minutes gone against Sporting, and he was pictured leaving the stadium on crutches after the game, so another spell on the sidelines seemingly awaits the Japanese right-back.

William Saliba

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: March 19 (vs. Palace)

Arsenal suffered a double defensive blow on Thursday night as William Saliba came off with an apparent back issue just after Granit Xhaka's opening goal, but his problem is not thought to be as serious, and he will go for further tests in the coming hours to determine the severity of the injury.

Mohamed Elneny

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Mohamed Elneny is in the infirmary for the long-term as he recovers from knee surgery, and the Egypt midfielder will not play again this season.

Eddie Nketiah

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Eddie Nketiah is still "a few weeks" away from returning from a troublesome ankle problem, according to Arteta, so the striker may not take to the field again until the middle of April.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match.
