Arsene Wenger aims to challenge for the title next season

Arsene Wenger is aiming for Premier League success next season, but first he has next week's FA Cup in his sights.

Arsene Wenger was full of praise for his Arsenal players after today's victory over West Bromwich Albion, especially goal scorers Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere.

Walcott scored a hat trick in the 4-1 victory over West Brom, with Wilshere also getting in on the action.

"Theo Walcott had a great game today," Wenger told BBC Sport. "He was on fire and moved well. Jack Wilshere as well. I had no pre-set mind before the game regarding the FA Cup final team. I have not thought about next Saturday. I wanted to pick a team to win the game.

"We had a slow start to the season, but progressively, we got stronger, and from January onward we got competitive. We have qualified directly for next season's Champions League. But we want more. We want to challenge for the Premier League title. But first we want to win the FA Cup next weekend.

"The first thing we need is to get everybody back in pre-season and not lose so many players. Walcott was out for a year, Wilshere for six months."

Arsenal finished the Premier League season in third place, 12 points off champions Chelsea.
