Schalke 04 midfielder Jermaine Jones reacts to his team's 1-1 draw at Galatasaray.

Schalke 04 midfielder Jermaine Jones has insisted that his team are "absolutely satisfied" with their 1-1 draw away to Galatasaray in the Champions League.

The American international believes that his side put in a solid performance, but admitted they defended poorly when the Turkish side opened the scoring.

"We're absolutely satisfied. We made a few mistakes, for example the goal we conceded was an invitation, but overall, we played a very good game and rightfully grabbed a point," he told ZDF.

"I think we've earned us a good amount of respect in the first half. They knew they were not able to open up the game, because it would have enabled us to finish our counters."

Burak Yilmaz gave Galatasaray the lead on the night, but Jones hit back to give Schalke a vital away goal to take into the second leg.
