A report claims that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane will be given the funds to bring in at least two new players during the January transfer window.

Real Madrid have reportedly finalised their transfer plans ahead of the winter window after holding a two-hour board meeting on Monday.

The Spanish and European champions are in need of freshening up following an inconsistent first half to the season that has seen them slip well off the La Liga title pace.

According to Marca, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez stepped up preparations ahead of the January market by arranging a summit with general director Jose Angel Sanchez at the start of the week.

Boss Zinedine Zidane will be backed to bring in at least two new players, it is claimed, with a goalkeeper and striker said to be high on the Frenchman's list of priorities.

Madrid are eight points adrift of Barcelona after 14 league games, and they will also finish second to Tottenham Hotspur in their Champions League group.
