Brazil are reportedly confident of appointing Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager.

The Brazilian FA are reportedly confident that Carlo Ancelotti will leave his position as Real Madrid boss to become Brazil's national team head coach.

Brazil are searching for a new permanent manager after Tite left his position following the country's quarter-final exit at the 2022 World Cup.

Ramon Menezes has been placed in temporary charge of the national team, and he oversaw a 2-1 defeat to Morocco in a friendly last month.

Brazil are hoping to appoint Tite's successor in the near future, and Ancelotti is said to be their top target.

The Italian previously admitted that he is "very excited" by Brazil's interest in his services, but he has stated that he intends to remain with Real Madrid until the end of his contract in June 2024.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Brazil are 'optimistic' that Ancelotti will become their new national team head coach.

The report states that they have already offered Ancelotti the position, and have presented him with a contract offer.

The 63-year-old has reportedly been given a deadline of May 25 to decide whether he wants to accept Brazil's proposal.

The president of the Brazilian FA, Ednaldo Rodrigues, recently commented on the country's managerial search.

"The situation is advancing," Rodrigues told local media. "We are trying to have a clearer position before May 25, the date set for the next national team call-ups."

Since returning to Real Madrid for a second spell as manager in 2021, Ancelotti has won five trophies, including the La Liga title and the Champions League.

Real Madrid are set to relinquish their league crown to Barcelona, who are currently 11 points clear at the top of the table.

However, the reigning European champions are involved in the semi-finals of the Champions League where they will face Manchester City.

After winning the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup this season, Real Madrid will have the chance to win their third trophy of the 2022-23 campaign when they face Osasuna in the Copa del Rey final on May 6.
