Ten-man Bournemouth beat Queens Park Rangers

Ten-man Bournemouth hold on for an impressive 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers.

Bournemouth have beaten Queens Park Rangers 2-1 in the Championship, despite finishing the game with 10 men.

Harry Arter was shown a red card for a bad challenge in the second half, with both sides having chances to score throughout the contest.

QPR started brightly with early chances for Jermaine Jenas and Benoit Assou-Ekotto, before Ravel Morrison combined well with Junior Hoilett to create space; however, the West Ham United loanee saw his effort saved.

After that, though, Bournemouth started to create more and more chances, with Yann Kermorgant guilty of missing a few, before finally taking the lead on the stroke of half time through Tommy Elphick.

The visitors responded immediately after the break as Tom Carroll found Armand Traore inside the box and the winger fired in from close range.

Bournemouth then took control again, though, missing with attempts from Andrew Surman and Matt Ritchie before retaking the lead with 30 minutes to go through Lewis Grabban.

Shortly afterwards the home side was reduced to 10 men following Arter's bad challenge on Hoilett.

QPR pushed hard for an equaliser as the match drew to a close, with Charlie Austin and Hoilett both missing chances, but they were left disappointed in the end.
