Half-Time Report: Ten-man Queens Park Rangers level with Wigan Athletic

Queens Park Rangers lose Bobby Zamora to a red card as they go into the break against Wigan Athletic level at 0-0.

Bobby Zamora was red carded as Queens Park Rangers played out a goalless opening 45 minutes against Wigan Athletic at Loftus Road in the Premier League this afternoon.

The former England international received his marching order following a challenge with Jordi Gomez, who was caught on the head by Zamora's wayward boot in the 21st minute.

Prior to that QPR had began the clash brightly and went close to breaking the deadlock in the 15th minute. Junior Hoilett chested the ball into the path of Loic Remy, who unleashed a powerful strike from 25 yards. It beat Joel Robles in the Wigan goal, but the ball rebounded to safety off the post.

Following the dismissal of Zamora, Wigan saw more of the ball but were unable to turn their domination into goals.

Callum McManaman went closest, but he curled a shot from the edge of the area just over the crossbar.
