Ezequiel Lavezzi says the time was right to leave Napoli following triumph in the Coppa Italia.

Ezequiel Lavezzi has revealed that he was "seduced" by the project at Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old completed his £24m switch to the French capital from Napoli earlier this month.

The Argentine international said that the time was finally right to leave Italy having beaten Juventus to win the Coppa Italia.

"In recent transfer windows, it was not the right time to leave Napoli," Lavezzi told Le Parisien. "But in 2011 I realised that my cycle on the slopes of Vesuvius had concluded.

"I am 27 and if I had again waited to move, it would have been too late. For this reason, I decided that if an important offer arrived, I would accept.

"I was seduced by this project and the opportunity to live in Paris and then I ended my adventure at Napoli with a Coppa Italia triumph, so there was no better way to leave."

Lavezzi spent five years at Napoli after moving from San Lorenzo in 2007.
