Mainz 05 claim point with late comeback

Mainz 05 come back from 2-0 down to draw with Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.

Mainz 05 have scored two goals inside the final 10 minutes to claim an unlikely draw against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga.

The best chance inside the opening 10 minutes fell to Johannes Geis, who tested Koen Casteels from the edge of the box with a low strike.

However, it was the visitors who went ahead after 14 minutes when Kevin Volland curled an effort beyond Heinz Muller from just outside the box.

It was 2-0 to Hoffenheim not long later. Roberto Firmino drilled low across Heinz after being found by Sven Schipplock.

Mainz came forward and were the better team for the rest of the half, but Stefan Bell missed a glorious chance from close range as he somehow poked a shot wide.

Mainz clawed one back on 82 minutes through Maxim Choupo-Moting before they sent the home crowd into raptures when Nikolce Noveski slammed in from a corner in the last minute of stoppage time.
