Liverpool are allegedly likely to end Taiwo Awoniyi's loan spell with Mainz 05 in order to send the forward to another club before the end of January.

Liverpool Taiwo Awoniyi is reportedly likely to see his loan spell with Mainz O5 cut short before the end of the January transfer window.

Due to being unable to secure a work permit, Awoniyi was allowed to make a temporary move to the Bundesliga side during the summer.

However, the 22-year-old has been restricted to just one start and five substitute outings in Germany's top flight, game time totalling just 150 minutes.

According to Goal.com, Liverpool may send Awoniyi to another club, with a number of teams having expressed an interest in his signature.

The report claims that Montpellier HSC, Brest, Nimes, Besiktas, Leganes and Mallorca are all monitoring the situation.

Awoniyi is said to be keen on remaining in Germany having began his professional career at FSV Frankfurt.
