Christian Benteke vows to revive Liverpool career after Crystal Palace winner

Striker Christian Benteke vows to "fight till the end" to save his Liverpool career after coming off the bench to score the winner at Crystal Palace.

Christian Benteke has said that he is determined to revive his Liverpool career after coming off the bench to score the winner at Crystal Palace yesterday.

The Belgian striker, 25, scored his first goal of 2016 by tucking home the last-gasp penalty after it was deemed that he had been fouled by Damien Delaney in the area.

Benteke is now looking to build on the goal and continue to impress Jurgen Klopp, who has appeared to relegate the £32.5m signing to third-choice striker behind fit-again Daniel Sturridge and fellow Belgian Divock Origi.

"It's in the most difficult situations that the real warriors, the tough men and determined guys stand up," Benteke told Belgian publication HLN.

"You have to be up for it. I have to take every chance, every minute the manager gives me - one minute, five minutes, 10 minutes, half an hour.

"I've still enough ambition and enough character to fight in difficult moments. I don't give up easily. I fight till the end. In my mind I was never thinking about a move [in January]. I didn't want to leave."

Benteke is Liverpool's joint-leading scorer this season with eight goals in all competitions.
