Alan Pardew feels "robbed" after loss to Liverpool

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew feels that his side were "robbed" in their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool after the 10-man Reds won with a late Christian Benteke penalty.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has claimed that his side were "robbed" of a point in their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool this afternoon.

The Eagles took the lead at Selhurst Park and also saw Liverpool reduced to 10 men when James Milner picked up a second yellow card with just under half an hour of the match to go.

However, Roberto Firmino capitalised on an Alex McCarthy error to level things up for the visitors before Christian Benteke won and dispatched a controversial late penalty after going down under the challenge of Damien Delaney.

"I feel like we've been robbed a little bit but again maybe we shot ourselves in the foot a bit. When we went down to 10 men maybe we should have pushed on a little bit," Pardew told Sky Sports News.

"[Benteke] is looking for it. Our player is pulling out of it. If the linesman gives it for the touch of the knee in the last minute I think it is harsh. Damien Delaney literally pulls out of it and the follow through of his knee gets it. Blimey, that's tough.

"We didn't get any pressure on them when they went down to 10. Up to that we were good and deserved to be in front. The keeper made a mistake, which cost us and made us edgy from that point and we never lost that edginess for the rest of the game. It was a game we should have come away with and we didn't."

The defeat means that Palace have now gone 12 Premier League games without a win.
