Marcin Wasilewski not surprised by Leicester City resurgence

Leicester City defender Marcin Wasilewski admits that he has not been surprised by his side's surge towards safety as they have won six of their last seven matches.

Leicester City defender Marcin Wasilewski has claimed that he has not been surprised by his side's resurgence to lift them out of the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Foxes have won six out of their last seven games to move three points clear of the bottom three, and can all but secure their survival with a victory over Sunderland in their match at the Stadium of Light.

"To be honest for me it's no surprise [that we've been winning] because I think all season we've played well, but yes in the last few games we've played well and had luck," Wasilewski told the club's official website. "Another reason is that we work hard for each other, so again it's not surprising to me.

"We believed in ourselves and in every single game we work hard. That has been the reason behind how we've been playing, and we have to keep doing that.

"We know this is a very important game for us and Sunderland also. We know we have two more games to stay up and for this next game we will prepare like we do for every single game. I hope we win this game and we stay up."

Leicester are 15th in the Premier League ahead of their clash against the Black Cats later today.
