Moussa Dembele strike earns managerless Fulham point against MK Dons

Moussa Dembele strikes in the first half to cancel out Dean Bowditch's effort to earn managerless Fulham a point in their Championship clash against MK Dons.

Managerless Fulham earned a share of the spoils in their Championship clash against MK Dons as Moussa Dembele cancelled out Dean Bowditch's strike at the stadium:mk this afternoon.

Joe Lewis kept the scores level in the early stages of the game when he made two fine saves to deny Bowditch and Josh Murphy from finding the net.

Bowditch then saw an effort cleared off the line, while at the other end of the pitch Fulham should have taken the lead as Ross McCormack sent a low pass into the feet of Dembele, but he sent his shot over the bar from two yards out.

MK Dons took the lead in the 30th minute when Murphy was allowed to raid down the flank and he lifted a pinpoint cross into the feet of Bowditch, who took a touch before sending his strike on the half-volley past Lewis with the aid of the post.

The Cottagers equalised just before the break when McCormack fired the ball across the face of goal and this time Dembele was on hand to convert his strike past David Martin.

Darren Potter almost restored the home side's advantage when he steered his header towards goal, only to see his effort drift agonisingly wide of the post from Murphy's cross.

MK Dons continued to press forward as Jordan Spence raided down the flank and cut the ball back to Nicky Maynard in the box, but the forward could only fire his effort over the bar.

Fulham were denied a late winner when Kyle McFadzean made a crucial block on the line to stop McCormack's goalbound effort as both sides were forced to share a point apiece.

MK Dons remain in the bottom three following the draw, while Fulham are 12th in the Championship.
