Tranmere Rovers continued their form on Saturday in League One, with timely wins for Yeovil, Coventry and Oldham too. Read the league roundup.

Tranmere Rovers maintained their lead at the top of League One with a 1-0 victory at Notts County this afternoon.

Behind them, Stevenage stayed in the automatic promotion places as a single Greg Tansey goal, 15 minutes from the end, saw them beat Scunthorpe United 1-0.

There were also 1-0 wins for Sheffield United and Swindon Town, who beat Leyton Orient and Bury respectively to climb above Crawley Town.

Crawley were beaten 2-1 at Griffin Park by two Clayton Donaldson goals for Brentford.

MK Dons also remain above Crawley after fighting back from two down at home to Portsmouth. An Adam Webster own-goal and a strike from Darren Potter earned them a point.

Oldham Athletic pulled away from the relegation zone with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Preston North End. Elsewhere, there were also wins for Coventry City and Crewe Alexander.

A David McGoldrick goal was enough for Coventry to beat Bournemouth, while Crewe fought back from a goal down to beat Hartlepool United 2-1.

Walsall lost 2-1 for the third time in a row at home to Carlisle United as a 90th-minute Liam Noble goal gave the away side all three points.

Yeovil Town tore up the form book to beat Colchester United 3-1 at home, thanks in part to a Paddy Madden double before half time.

Elsewhere, an early Billy Paynter penalty was enough for Doncaster Rovers to beat Shrewsbury Town.
